The Eagan Police Department is soliciting help from local elementary students to name the department's new police canine. The nameless dog, a one year old Belgian Shepherd, was donated to the department by the Eagan Citizen’s Crime Prevention Association. The canine will attend training in the spring with Eagan Police Officer Andy Helgerson. Officer Helgerson lost his former canine partner, Maverick, last year to cancer. More... -

The program started in 1996 and has had tremendous reviews from the past graduates of the academy. FYI - FYA ‘For Your Information’ – ‘Flashing Yellow Arrows’ Flashing yellow arrows allow motorists to make a left turn when there is a gap in oncoming traffic without having to wait for a green light. These signal arrows, installed at several locations in Eagan, are part of an effort to maintain intersection safety and increase traffic flow by reducing delays.
Eagan’s daytime odd/even parking rules (6 a.m. – 6 p.m.) are now in effect through April 15.

City of Eagan Salary Statement
Pursuant to the requirements of MN Session Law 2005, Chapter 156, M.S. 471.701 a city with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its three highest-paid employees. This notice may be provided on the homepage of the primary Web site maintained by the political subdivision for a period of not less than 90 consecutive days. The City of Eagan’s highest paid employees effective January 1, 2012 include: City Administrator - $151,704.80; Chief of Police - $132,911.80; Director of Administrative Services - $132,911.80; Director of Public Works - $132,911.80.
