The Eagan Police Department is offering a FREE Community Seminar: "Living Safely with Coyotes in Eagan" on Thursday, February 23rd. Two sessions will be offered, 5:30 PM and 7:30 PM.
Eagan’s City Engineer since 1997, Russ Matthys, has received the prestigious 2011 Engineer of the Year Award on Wednesday from his peers—the City Engineers Association of Minnesota (CEAM).
The Eagan Police Department is soliciting help from local elementary students to name the department's new police canine. The nameless dog, a one year old Belgian Shepherd, was donated to the department by the Eagan Citizen’s Crime Prevention Association. The canine will attend training in the spring with Eagan Police Officer Andy Helgerson. Officer Helgerson lost his former canine partner, Maverick, last year to cancer. More...
Is that a Rink or a Pond? Apparently these guys did not get the word...due to the thawing weather rinks remain closed until further notice. This group does look familiar...yup, it's the broomball team called the Honkers. In the meantime...most trails are clear and very walk-able/explore a park. The Discover Brochure is mailed four times a year to Eagan residents, which includes the Spring/Summer, Summer, Fall and Winter brochure. Non-Residents may now purchase a yearly subscription for $15. The first mailing will be the 2012 Spring/Summer Discover Brochure. You can subscribe by filling out a registration form, registering via eConnect or calling Eagan Parks & Recreation at (651) 675-5500 with Class #18368.
Eagan Parks & Recreation is gearing up for spring-summer adult sports. Sports offered include basketball, sand volleyball, softball, volleyball and wiffleball. New team registration for basketball, softball, volleyball and wiffleball is February 27 - March 2, 2012. Registrations are still being accepted for numerous leagues. Participate in the Mission: POSSIBLE 10-week Weight Loss Program that has a focus on overall health. Registration will be at the Eagan Community Center January 30 - February 5. FYI - FYA ‘For Your Information’ – ‘Flashing Yellow Arrows’ Flashing yellow arrows allow motorists to make a left turn when there is a gap in oncoming traffic without having to wait for a green light. These signal arrows, installed at several locations in Eagan, are part of an effort to maintain intersection safety and increase traffic flow by reducing delays.

City of Eagan Salary Statement
Pursuant to the requirements of MN Session Law 2005, Chapter 156, M.S. 471.701 a city with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its three highest-paid employees. This notice may be provided on the homepage of the primary Web site maintained by the political subdivision for a period of not less than 90 consecutive days. The City of Eagan’s highest paid employees effective January 1, 2012 include: City Administrator - $151,704.80; Chief of Police - $132,911.80; Director of Administrative Services - $132,911.80; Director of Public Works - $132,911.80.
