Keeping you informed is the top job of the Communications Department. We want you to understand your local government and how you can get involved. We provide information about what the City does and how to access our services and programs. We use a mix of tools like this Web site, social media, traditional media, video, and printed items to help you stay connected in Eagan.
The Department is responsible for City publications including the Experience Eagan Resident Newsletter, the Eagan Business News, the Discover Parks and Recreation brochure (produced by Parks & Recreation staff) and the New Residents Guide, along with a variety of other City brochures and publications.
The department conducts public surveys, generates press releases and Web content, responds to media inquiries and public information requests, and offers graphic design and special event support to various departments.
The Communications Department oversees the Eagan-TV operations, the City's cable access operations. Eagan-TV provides cablecasting of City Council, Advisory Commission meetings and a great deal of other City-related information on City Cable 16 in Eagan and provides community access channels 14 and 15, Government channel 16, school channels 18 and 19 and E-TV channel 20. The department coordinates the Eagan Technology Working Group, an advisory committee working to improve broadband options in the city for residents and businesses.
The Communications Director is also the city’s liaison to Eagan Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Communications Coordinator provides staff support to the Eagan Historical Society and Eagan's July 4th Funfest committee.
